Smithfield State High School Library is a busy information hub. With four areas for concurrent classes, there are also senior study rooms and smaller areas for groups and students on a study period, to use. The E-Learning Room is a recent structural addition with 2 data projectors. There is also a mini lab of computers, a mobile trolley of 10 laptops, an electronic whiteboard and a larger pod of laptops for use by individual students on a study period. We are constantly adding young adult and adult fiction to our collection. Captioned 24 hour news, unless features are running, screens all day. This blog by the Teacher-librarian archives new titles, new displays, useful websites and Web 2.0 tools to assist our patrons to be independent and transliterate learners.
